We don’t just sell brand new and (awesome) refurbished Desktop PC's and Laptops – we also have a fully equipped repairs workshop on site!
Our technicians have 25+ years of experience combined here at Four Oaks Computers, most of that time spent in the workshop fixing a great variety of issues, from simple hard drive or SSD replacements, faulty GPU and CPU/RAM swap outs to motherboard repairs and software related issues with the windows file system including viurs removals, updates and performance tweaks + Full PC MOT Service.
We also offer an upgrade and maintenance service: breathing new life (and speed) into older, slow desktop computers. It’s recommended that you have a Windows or macOS device serviced every 12-24 months, depending on how much you use it, to keep it running efficiently and secure.
The most popular upgrade we currently do is an SSD upgrade, whereby we replace the last-gen spinning hard drive in a computer with a super-fast, super-efficient and super-reliable Solid State Drive. It’s a super upgrade!
Laptop Repairs
Our Experienced Technicians have been fixing devices since the early 2000s, we have seen all sorts. From the early weighty beasts and the over engineered work laptops, to the flimsy
bin-fodder Chromebook examples we sometimes see today.
Laptop repair is our specialty.
We can fix just about anything, and it’s always more cost effective to repair instead of replace. All parts can be renewed, within reason, but some standard replacement parts are those things like your battery or the charging jack which can become damaged.
Did you know that most laptops still have a mechanical hard drive, which over time will age and slow down!
Replacing this device with a modern solid state drive (SSD) is the one biggest upgrade and fix you can do to any computer. But especially laptops.
Second to that is the memory, the RAM which is used to keep all your data and programmes running smoothly, but also problematic things like your network cards, or your keyboard and trackpad, if any of those become faulty we can replace instore.
We also can also replace screens, casings or broken hinges, these things have become more prevalent in the modern lightweight laptops. We get more and more laptops in with hinges snapped or coming away from their anchor points.
